Genesthai

Genesthai is an ongoing collaboration between Guy Schofield and Tatiana Collet Apraxine that arose in Summer 2023 from the Immersive Assembly Vol3 residency.

Genesthai is a multi-user mixed reality installation exploring our constant search for truth, meaning and transcendence. The viewer follows a rope, moving hand-over-hand across an endless plain. In the distance they can make out shadows of a great procession: huge monuments on flatbed trucks, ritual altars being dragged across the desert. The piece weaves in and out of our reality to reveal a hidden world, in which the viewer is a mere passenger.
